I stood in front of five life-sized paintings of the family of Nicholas I, and was astonished to read that they were painted by a <b>Christina Robertson<\/b>\u00a0who came from Kinghorn in Fife, which is near my hometown. How was it possible that I\u2019d never heard of this painter?\u00a0<\/i><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\" data-setdir=\"false\"><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/div><div dir=\"ltr\" data-setdir=\"false\"><i>My fascination inspired me to years of research.\u00a0I was very privileged to have the support and encouragement of art historian Dr Elizavetta Renn\u00e9, from the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg.
